The racial discrimination prevalent in America, especially against the black community is so disturbing now a days and is right in front of our eyes more than ever! According to many black people speaking out, racism is not getting worse, it is getting filmed.
However, the senseless killings of black men hits different when you’re raising one. So please have a look at our interview with the Booker and Haynes Family as they share their experience with raising black sons amongst all this racism, and their take and perspective on the recent events that have happened.

It’s so sad what we’re seeing in the news these days. I appreciated watching this and listening to another perspective. Stay safe.

I can only imagine what your family is going through. Thank your for sharing your thoughts and feelings. I hope that this reaches near and far to better our future in this crazy world.

Sometimes it’s just outrageous to know that in the United States the racism is so high. Is just unbearable to see those videos, those people that think that they are entitled of any kind of superiority just because they have a different skin tone. This is just absurd, this is just horrible and disgusting. I’m Latina so I’ve received bad looks when people see me talking Spanish and I don’t mind explaining to them but. I can’t imagine what a black man growing up has to suffer this has to stop.

Hearing these experiences is so important for all of us as we grow in our understanding. It is heartbreaking to know what others have to bear everyday. As those of us in Minnesota see and feel the devastation of the injustices, we know we have to do better.
Serena says
Extremely heartbreaking situation and it seems it just gets worse by the day, but I chose not to just go by what I see. There are other forces in motion. Stay strong and peace and love to you and your family.

I will check this out for sure. I hate what is happening. Everyone should just love one another and it hurts my heart that there are people who don’t believe this :/

Killing is wrong and it upsets me that it happens. I am also upset at the way people are thinking that it is ok to damage things. We need to teach our kids about loving others and respecting people and things

Stories. More people need to pay attention to the stories of others. That is how we learn to empathize and that is how change happens.
Priya says
I dislike racial discrimination so much. I am glad people are standing up to the atrocities and killings. Nobody should suffer on the basis of their skin colour.
Joanne says
I feel so sorry that this has happened on top of the lockdown. Now there are protests, looting and curfews for many major cities now. The first half of 2020 has been quite something. I wonder what the second half will bring! Hopefully not more of the same…

It is such a disappointment when you realise that Martin Luther King Jr. died in 1968 for a cause that we are still trying to rectify 52 years later. Unfortunately, it is going to take a lot of educating and patience to get to that point of understanding and acceptance.

See, I had lived in NY for 3 years. Yes, racism was always there. BUt not everyone is a racist. What happened was wrong I support Black People. But there are plently of white people who support black too. I hope, things settle in USA soon.

Thank you for sharing. Times are changing and opening millions of eyes to issues that many thought were long behind us. There’s a long battle ahead but I have hope for our children’s generation!

It is heartbreaking what is happening in America, and the rest of the world. I don’t understand why they look others different and didn’t respect one another. We are all humans having borrowed life from the nature.
Here at home we try our best to teach my partner’s kids (3 teenagers!) to be respectful, not to look anyone differently, and always be kind. And we don’t tolerate any disrespectful acts starting form our home.
